I can confirm that retail orders have not closed yet. I ordered a 2020 Ford F350 on July 18, 2020, and I have conferred several times with my dealer since the order was placed. It was accepted and scheduled for delivery to the dealership around the end of September.
Interesting. I ordered an f250 7.3 on 7/17. My dealer said there's no telling how long it'll take with this covid thing, could be a 2020 or a 21. He estimated it would be around november before it comes in. Who knows.

Ford should have a VIN assigned and scheduled the week to start assembling your truck. Based on other orders, your build is probably scheduled for the week of the 31st or the second week of next month. Ask your dealer for the VIN and build week then you can track it yourself.
I asked if they assigned a VIN yet. He said we ordered 7/17 and it'd be a while.
For whatever it's worth, I ordered no money down no commitment because he couldn't shoot me an out the door price until he knew for sure what rebates were going on. Yes, I know some dealers will mix and match current or future rebates. He won't. He just said if you like the deal then I'll sell it to you, if not, I'll sell it to someone else no problem. So I said go for it, and later sold my Ram. Basically commited now! Haha
I also ordered mine with no money down, since the dealer said he could sell trucks like this all day. But he did lock in the deal and incentives that were in place, and told me that when the truck came in I could choose between all the old as written up OR all the new incentives whichever was better, but not mix and match. I think that is because of the terms of the Ford "Incentive Protection" system, though, and not specific to certain dealers.
