2020 New Order

Anybody know what the lead time is for a new special order Super Duty? Also, any pointers on pricing or ordering through a dealership?

It used to be 8 to 12 weeks. But with the virus stuff and protests it could be a lot longer.

I did a search on Fords site and found almost the exact truck I would have ordered. It was ordered by a dealership, but not built yet. I was able to contact the dealership and had 1st dibs on the truck. So, the truck was more or less mine before it was put on the lot. I was looking for a 250 and ended up with 350 . I’m not seeing any downside to having the 350 .

As stated above in the world today it's really hard to say

One factor that will never change is the options you select, the more you do the chances are
better they could run into parts issues and sometimes paint like the new Silver.

I was very fortunate, I did not want or need a fully equipped Super Duty, one that would fit
90% of it's intended use as I plan on keeping for some time.

Spent sometime on the Ford site, once I built ' My F-250 ' I went on three dealer web sites and when
the chat box opened up I expressed my goal for a Factory order and if they were interested in selling
a truck. I also mentioned that because of the basic unit I was ordering I was able to put down a sizable
amount or pay cash and no trade was involved, and once I had a conformation on the build I would stop
by to finalize the numbers.

The fit & Finish of my New F-250 is an excellent example of the pride demonstrated by the Kentucky Plant
absolutely Perfect, Ordered on 02/06/2020, Built on 03/04/2020, Delivered on 03/19/2020...Six Weeks !

Sir,
Can you expand on the new silver color issues? Mine is in transit so nothing I can do about it anyway.

There are none. I have Iconic silver and have not had any issues. Silver used to be a tough color. Like in the 80's.....

There was a late availability on Silver Spruce, but that color is finally rolling off the line. Not aware of any issues with Iconic Silver.

Exactly

The point I was trying to make as an example of some choices and availability are a factor on a builds timeline...That's it.

Perfect! Thanks for the replies. I try to keep up on current events and didn't recognize any color issues. Love how they darkened the silver up a bit, with the Iconic Silver...

Good point, always the possibility of option part shortages effecting the build date.

I agree, was leaning towards Blue until saw a Iconic Silver. Looked great and hid the dirt well.

Not that I know of but then it's not "my" truck, it's for one of my foreman so I'm not tracking it closely.
