I just bought my first N 950 and have been trying to decode the Warranty Plate. It looks like your pretty awesome at it. Any help would be appreciated.
Ok will do. I posted on one thread and it got moved. I’m new on here. I plan on maybe stretching it out a few inches and go from there. Always wanted one.
I don't need another hobby, such as restoring that old gem, but if that truck was to fall in my lap I'd sure have to consider it. Don't think I'd make it work truck though as once restored that beauty needs to be shown off, not subject to the stresses and dings of a working life..
The hardest work it’s gonna do is pull my camper. Maybe the car trailer every now and again. It’s got plenty of power to pull whatever I need with the 671 Detroit in it.
Rubber auxiliary steering shaft rod end boot
1979 Ford F600 4 x 4
This is the boot that goes on the end of the steering shaft that powers the right side axle
It has the numbers "18-1 AB-15" on it
Google doesnt list anything.. Ill probably have to fabricate one
Alright @Numberdummy, I joined this forum just to ask for a decode of the truck I am working on. Mainly, I need to know what motor it has in it.

If anyone is curious about this truck, Speak up and I will post a picture!
We would like to see pictures.
lm working on a 69 F8000 and a 69 N850
Here is a few pictures, it is a 1968 F800, It has a Dogleg 5 speed, and a 2 speed rear end. It was built by Western States. The truck belongs to my Fire Dept, and is our parade/show truck. It has spent it's whole life with our dept. It only has 13000 miles on it.
This is from last summer, at a local car show
This is a little older picture, before I replaced the 1980's lightbar with the original gumball light.
I am new to the forum.
I am considering buying a 1978 Ford L9000. VIN is K90TVC18432.
I believe this means:
K90: L9000
T: Detroit Diesel 8V92TA
V: Kentucky Plant
C: 1978
Correct?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
John
