79 c6 converter

My wife has a 79 bronco with a 460, c6 that she uses for mud racing. Now it's not a full race truck as she wants to make it street legal to drive around town as well. She with my help rebuilt trans 4 years ago and the 460 last year. We did not install new torque converter when we did rebuild and it seems the stall is to high for driving around town. Can anybody recommend a good converter for us. The 460 is just a mild build nothing to crazy. Thanks

Choosing the right stall depends mainly on the cam profile of the engine,the trucks weight and the gearing. There's some good charts and no doubt some good youtube vids to help ya out. The best way of course is just calling the place you want to buy from and they'll ask you the questions and how you use the truck.

For your use I highly recommend the Oregon Performance C6 Allison Spec converter. Its a tough unit and low stall, they handle truck pulling and towing well.
