So I just rebuilt the 79 f250’s c6 and when I seated the torque converter it spins great, like butter to the right(clockwise) but will not spin left. I have rebuilt tons of newer trans (6f35’s, 6f55’s, 5r55s) and when I have done them the converter spins freely in either direction. Idk if this is an inherent trait with a c6? Feels like a one way clutch. Of coarse I didn’t spin the converter back and worth when I removed so idk if this is normal or not. Everywhere I search has to do with seating it and making sure it doesn’t bind when installing to motor but none have any info on rotation. Thanks for any help

I think it should spin freely both ways , doesn't sound right
