I have a 1997 powerstroke. put a new fuel pump on it about 30,000 miles ago. truck currently has 300,800. started to drive to work and the truck acted like it was running out of fuel. put the truck in neutral and floor it and after maybe 30 sec the rps came up. tried to continue my way to work and it did it again so I turned around and went home. at the house if I hold the rps at 2,500 for about 40 seconds the truck dies down to abut 1,000 and if I hold it floored it will come back and run normal. fuel pressure at the filter is 50 psi or more at an idle. please help I need this truck. thank you to all who share their wisdom with me
Do you have any way to see live data? I would want to see icp and ipr values before dividing g down the fuel pump rabbit hole. If it's got 50,I would expect this prob isn't fuel related.
On second thought also. When was the fuel filter changed last? What does it look like now?
changed the fuel filter last week. I don't think i have any way to get live data. I have a superchip tuner. I will look and see if it gives live data. update here is a data log holding at 2,500 as it drops off and comes back
ok so I have replaced the IPR and the ICP and the truck is doing the same thing and I also think it is missing a little at an idle. any ideas? please help, I need this truck for work
