So I have recently purchased a 1979 Ford f150 and the first thing I want to tackle is the dash. The previous owner put a quadro-jet carb on (sigh) so he cut the dash open for a choke. There was also what appears to be an attempted double din radio conversion by cutting the existing hole larger. I know that I can get instrument panel replacements but is it possible to replace the actual metal of the dash? If so where? If not I will just weld in patches but that is definitely not my first choice.
It's a little involved but the dash just bolts in, no welding. There are two different dash panels, one for factory A/C, one without.
Not really difficult just a lot of removing and reinstalling, especially if you have factory A/C.
