When I bought my 2000 7.3, there was a leak in the ac system and it was empty. I am using the misfortune to install a new condenser, evaporator, receiver, orifice tube, and compressor. The new compressor is pre-oiled with 407 cc of PAG 46. In its instructions, it says to measure what is emptied from the old compressor and subtract that from the new. Is that all there is to it?
The hood sticker on my truck is missing so I can’t see what that says for total oil. I’ve seen some sources call for 9 ounces and others 7 for a Ford FS10 compressor. Also, it’s my understanding that those are ounces by weight whereas the compressor pre-oil spec is by volume..
No, that assumes that only the compressor is being replaced. You are replacing EVERYTHING so there will be no oil in the system except what you put into it.

With or without aux air?
Without aux air. It’s a super cab F-250. Since everything but the hoses are new, sounds like it’ll need a full load of oil?
