I’m very anxious to see the shakedown run with no 35psi limit.

The next data-logging session will still be with the 35psi boost limit so we can make a meaningful comparison between the performance of the 6.0 CAC and the Tapercore. We’ll see how brave I am after that and may up the boost limit during the same excursion.

Doesn't matter, as long as you are happy with what you are doing on a daily basis, you are good to go.

That is the question. Am I? Or is all this an attempt to fill a hole in my soul? *existential angst*

Did you feel like there was any change when you went to the 6.0 CAC?

TBH, it was so long ago I can't remember.

EDIT: It looks like I messed up setting the higher limit. I will have to redo the second round of runs.

Data logging runs to compare Tapercore to 6.0 intercooler. Boost limit set at 35psi.

Hard to say when ambient temperatures are some 50+ degrees lower than when I logged with the 6.0 intercooler. Let’s put it thia way, MAT is lower than IAT with the Tapercore when cruising. That was not the case with the 6.0 intercooler.

what are your egt's at max boost set and rpm's at 3500 ? I can't really see gauge , but it looks like past 1200. I'm just curious as a comparison to what I'm getting. Do you feel you experience turbo lag a little when hammering the pedal? What is your max APP when hammering it ? I'll give you my data I got so far as a comparison. I'm not sure how to do all that fancy video stuff, but perhaps someone going to the N.GA. Meetup can help me post a few runs. I know for sure my egt and boost are way lower that what i expected on my setup. I've been recording some runs lately and I'm still trying to figure out the data enough to be useful to others.

Keep us updated as you get more driving time with the Tapercore. I am interested in the difference although you are comparing to an already upgraded IC.

Well done Leonard. Thanks for the video, data and gauge readings. That is so much more helpful and informative than a post with "IT DUN GUUD BRAH!!!"

No, I do not feel any lag but that's because of the VGT/VNT I suspect. I did not log the APP PID but I've got my foot down as far as it will go.
EDIT: Oops, just realized I failed to answer your first question. In the Economy tune, EGT tops out at 1,200. In the Performance tune, it just keeps climbing the longer I keep my foot in it. I think it's because of the controller limited boost. I am slowly working my way up to the point where boost is limited by fueling and not the VGT/VNT controller.

Will do. The true test will come in summer when I have the same ambient temperatures to log with so a direct comparison to the 6.0 intercooler can be made.

*blush* You're welcome. There's another acronym for your parody video: IDGB!!!

The 6.0 CAC isn’t much of an upgrade. I’ve put these in a couple of trucks and found no noticeable/measurable change.
