For a while now the check engine light has been on and have got codes related to the glow plug circuit. I was checking codes for other things today and noticed the P0670 and P0683 along with the repeated codes with the -C abbreviation. I have suspected the glow plug module for a while and not the actual glow plugs. BTW if I reset the codes with the engine warm it won't set the engine light for several starts, which is how I have been getting around this issue for the State inspection. So I noticed now the aforementioned codes relative to the module talking to the PCM and am wondering if I just have a bad module as I have read how the heat kills them but I haven't been able to remove the plug ins to inspect.
I know it's been awhile but back on doing some things to the trucks. I will need to pull the caps off the plugs and see if there's any prongs that need to be tightened up. He never really says, but I'm assuming the large connection that's melted on the black plug pictured is the main power source coming in. I need to also look at testing the actual GPM.
If you need to replace the module only buy Motorcraft. I replaced mine with a cheap $55 one. Ended up having to buy the $107 Motorcraft one to actually fix the problem.
