I have a 1988 F350 (7.3 IDI & ZF5) that I've about two months now.
I went to install aftermarket Taillights today, and license plate lights, Cause why not. I bought LED lights and reverse lights, as well as 3157 Adapters, and going by some diagram online, I hooked them up properly But I had no Brake lights or turn signals, only running lights. License plate lights work fine. Also 3 out of 4 of my fender marker lights are off.
All Fuses are good, I checked last night.
So if anyone could help me out, It'd be much appreciated. Thank you.

Yes they illuminate, but I don't think I have a 3rd brake light.
3rd brake lights were'nt standard until 1994. They tried to get me on that when I was getting my truck inspected last year, I had to remind them it just has a cargo light so my truck cap doesn't need a 3rd brake light... (although I may add one some day?)
Check your grounds and make sure the bulbs are correctly inserted. LEDs are polarity sensitive, if hot and ground are reversed they don't light up.
I figured out that my marker lights blew, 3 out of 4. So that's one thing. Running lights work fine, blinkers still don't work, and neither do the brake lights. I tried a new ground wire. Same thing, so Can we conclude it's the 3157 adapters yet?
Also the 4 way/ hazards work.

And the adapter is setup by the following
Green - taillamp
Black - ground
Red - stop and turn
So in my case by the video it's:
black to black - ground
Brown to green - taillamp light
Red to (black with pink tracer, or green with orange tracer) it depends on what side.

I wish I could help you out but the best I can say is good luck. I tackled that project 3 months ago thinking it was going to be easy and I'm still on that project. Mine work, then dont work, then somewhat work and then do nothing again and so on and so forth. So have fun and maybe you will have a bit more success on the first try then I did.
I don't know what adapters are being used .... I know often you need to upgrade the flashers to solid state units and sometimes you can use resistors for hyper flash issues.
not all LED bulbs are created equal either
but IF you can get it to work with the Incandescent bulbs then it should function with LED providing you plug the bulb in with the proper polarity... there is 2 types of wiring STD and CK.on the 3157
also if you have the Switchbacks then you in for another world of hurt to install diodes on the Turn signal switch too... but I won't go there yet as I don't think this is the case here.
