I have reading threads on how to do the glass install but I am still a bit confused regarding the 4 tabs in the windshield frame. How are they supposed to be bent for install? Do they bend around the window? I assume yhey are hidden behind the seal? I have attached a pic of my cab to show how mine are currently positioned.
They make glass installation a real pain, and were deleted from later trucks at the factory. They are spot-welded on, you can use a Dremel to grind thru the spot welds and pop them off.

Correct. The intent of the tabs was to help hold the glass in place. Once the glass is installed, it's not going anywhere. It's impossible to install the glass and use the stainless trim that was an option in 51-2 with the tabs in the way. Afaik, that's when they were deleted and no one ever reported a glass issue on the later trucks. Cut them off as Ross suggests, and your install will go much smoother.
