Setting Up A 9"
Gotta Ranchero 9" Do I weld the leaf spring pads on straight/90' and shim pinion angle? Or weld on with pinion angle? Plus if I narrow the axle, do I center the pinion to the frame? Or offset with 2 equal length axles?

Don't weld on perches until you establish final ride height then go on pinion angle. Unless you offset the pinion approx four inches the axles won't be the same length. Factory for most trucks is 2"offset but you center it in the truck if you like(2 wheel drive only), I centered mine.

Remember, that any welding on the housing will distort the housing and it WILL have to be straightened after all welding is complete. The shop where I had my brand new John's 9 Inch housing installed had to straighten the housing after they welded on the spring pads and the torque arm.
