I know if there is anyplace I can find the correct answer it would be on this forum so I figured I would give it a shot, i need help determining the colors on this truck. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.
You can check the Warranty plate on the drivers door for paint codes, but there are no guarantees that the colours on the truck now are the same as what was applied at the factory.
If you need to do some touch-up or repairs, if you go to any decent size autobody jobber, they can scan a panel. The scan will give them a formula to mix the colour(s) in whatever system they are selling.......
If members are unable to help and there is a small item that can be removed suggest take to a reputable automotive paint shop who may be able to color match????
Thanks for everyone’s response, I should have been clearer in my request, this is the color I want to paint my own truck
I thought it was your truck until you posted the question. With the work you have done to your truck of course you would know what colour you painted it lol. From the pic I would guess it to be custom colours. The blue is similar to IROC blue from the 80's Camaro. The white looks like a pearl white that has a silver mist in it.
edit: I have seen this truck on the net before. Maybe it was Classic Trucks that featured it?? Try googling blue 1966 Ford F100 under images and then click on the image to go to the page.
I think RangerMercMan may be more accurate, because the white looks lighter than Wimbledon White and the blue looks darker than Marlin Blue. For reference, here's my 66 in the combo from 1966...Wimbledon White and Marlin Blue....
I must say there is a big difference between my Iphone and a real computer when it comes to colour. The truck in question looks lighter in the blue on my computer. I still think it is too dark for Marlin blue but the 67-72 trucks had a slightly darker blue from the factory.
I’m still trying to decide the final color or should I say shade of the blue white combo for my truck, finally found someone willing to take on the painting for me and they are going to do it in stages so the bed is coming off with other things as well and I will take it in as soon as disassembly is complete.
It was a long day yesterday, beds off and all the door and window hardware is out, passenger seats out and it’s about as stripped down as it can get, hoping today is the day she goes in for a fresh coat of paint, I haven’t been this nervous in awhile, new trim is on the way along with a few other items as well but getting the colors right is what’s been the toughest part so far. Thanks for everyone’s assistance along the way, it’s been almost 7 years so far but it’s getting closer, it definitely wouldn’t be this far if I didn’t have everyone on this sites assistance, I truly appreciate the guidance and advice.
