Been a while since I've posted but this is the second time at least I've noticed this. I'll go to start the truck, it'll start to turn the engine then it almost sounds like the starter teeth are skipping or what I'd say it sounds like if you try to start your truck when your engine is already started. The PO of the truck said he replaced the starter but who knows if it was a decent starter. It also took much longer for the truck to crank over the 1st time to build enough pressure to start. I may end up having to buy a set of new injectors as well, I've had a couple of instances where the truck seemed like it was misfiring, when I pulled up the DTC's it was complaining about cylinder 1 contribution till I shut it off...then it'll go a while and not have an issue.
If you are going to replace the starter, suggest you get the 6.4 starter. On the 6.0, the engine spins faster and starts quicker.
Suggest you look at a potential ICP failure for your Injector problem. I kept getting the same code except on #7 injector. Plus mine ran bad for a week before it quit. Unplugged the ICP, and it started. Replaced the ICP and all is well.

I wonder if the ICP is what going on with mine. Sometimes it'll start quickly, other random times it'll turn over probably 5+ seconds before it starts.
Starter bolts all appear to be fine and starter is secured to the engine. Not really sure if the flywheel has broken teeth or possibly the replaced starter was a cheap replacement from China.
