Horn Wire

I swapped my steering column for the one from the donor custom cab. Mine was missing the wire coming out the bottm of column. Is that a ground? I have a bundle of wires going to the taillights with an extra white wire with bullet connector. Also the steering column wires are not same color. 1959 ford manual not very clear to me. Solved steering column wire issue. Found turn signal switch mounts broken. Moved switch assy and wires from old column over. Hoped to use what was left of custom cab horn button but it doesn't work on my standard steering wheel.

The horn wire goes all the way through the column and at the bottom of the steering box, its not under the dash...

sorry I didn’t understand your question. I ***think** it goes to the bullet connector coming out of the front end harness that goes through the firewall. Although I may be wrong. I’m on the flip side of things, still tearing stuff apart.

Opps I think I’m wrong, that should go to the horn relay per the 60 manual.

Here is the horn relay. The smaller middle wire is what you want. It looks like it pops out the other end by the body harness plug. My horn wire is missing the bullet so I don’t know if it’s male or female without checking further and I can’t tell the color until I clean it it all up. Hope that helps

Ok, thanks. Gives me a starting point.
Ok, found it. It did connect to horn relay. On mine it is a blue wire although the part not taped was faded to white. Previous owner taped up that wire with the taillight wires which threw me. With tape removed it makes sense. I assume it is the ground for horn relay?

Yes the ground for the horn relay goes through the center of the column up to your horn button/ring. and when you ground it with the ring the horn should get 12vdc.
