we have a 2012 ford escape. it has 104,000 miles.on occasion for no reason the car while driving at about 40 mph starts to shake and lose acceleration. we have replaced the motor mountsreplaced had all the tires balanced and rotated , full wheel alignment, and had a full tuneup. tires and brakes are in good condition. has anyone had this issue.

This could cause your transmission to go next.. (a friend's 2014 Escape's torque converter went bad at 80K and it ruined the trans.. $6000 later, the car is back on the road. )
