shaking and acceleration
we have a 2012 ford escape. it has 104,000 miles.on occasion for no reason the car while driving at about 40 mph starts to shake and lose acceleration. we have replaced the motor mountsreplaced had all the tires balanced and rotated , full wheel alignment, and had a full tuneup. tires and brakes are in good condition. has anyone had this issue.

My first thoughts would be your torque converter maybe going bad.. got this off the internet:

- Jerky 1st to 2nd gear change (this was helped by the gearbox oil flush incidentally)

Some things to keep in mind when going to the dealership for service.
- It going to cost more than you think it should.
- They likely will have it for a while,
- They may not get the issue fixed the first time.
- It's going to cost way more that it really should. You were right on that in line #1.
