Just a quick question for you all- I couldn't find the info in my owners manual so I am now turning to a trusted source- you guys....lol. Batteries-both of my batteries have lived beyond their useful life-when the weather dips below 45 degrees, truck won't start, it bumps a few times and then quits. The battery on the passenger side has some corrosion on it, even after it has been cleaned. Battery on the driver side no visual defects. I believe that the batteries are done. Here is my quandary....what battery do I replace with? the batteries that are in there are BXT65-750's- I can't find them anywhere. The only thing I can find are BXT-850's....all specs are the same except the CCA's 750 vs. 850...not going to harm anything, is it?
To add to what others have said. You should replace batteries that have corrosion on them. Leaking batteries is not a good thing. Cleaning them doesn't stop the leak and over time the acid will leak on other things and eat holes in the truck. Good maintenance will make batteries last longer. If you let the corrosion get to the battery cable you will spend big money replacing them. I like buying higher CCA batteries. I also get my batteries from a place that sells lots of batteries. Batteries only last so long and you want the freshest battery you can find. Don't go cheap ether. Batteries are about $150 each. My how times have changed.
The 17+ trucks are afflicted much worse with leaking and it usually starts on the driver side. Mine was no exception even after warranty replacement. That said, I swallowed hard and went for a pair of Odyssey AGM's. They aren't cheap, but will never leak again. They also up the CCA #'s. I don't think you'll find a better unit for our trucks. You can buy them through AutoZone as well. (They are Odyssey's largest retailer.) However when I bought mine, they were on indefinite back order so Amazon it was...

Agree completely
I put Northstar AGM’s in my trucks about two years ago. Put them in on a warm day in September and there was an immediate noticeable increase in the starting power. I plow, and the draw down isn’t even noticeable
AGM’s are expensive, but they are worth it. If they last 5+ years, then the average cost is about $50 per year - not even the cost of a tank of gas. That’s how I look at it at least.
