Coolers, and turbo replacement

hello again y'all, I am at that time where my delta is getting a little farther apart and I have the p0401 code, still after changing egr, iat, and maf, with all new filters. I am also getting some blue smoke periodically from exhaust, usually at stop lights, so I'm sure turbo seal is leaking, its also quite noisy after shutdown so its time to do it all. I have already ordered egr cooler from xdp, and oil cooler from mishimoto. I am leaning towards a reman ford turbo as my local supplier can get me one at a reasonable price. Here is where I need all your experience, what else do I need to get to do a thorough job? Obviously I am going to get new coolant and oil, AGAIN, lol. This is a 2005 motor, all stock, with around 130000 miles on it. Thanks in advance.

Turbos rarely are the cause for blue-tinged periodic smoke, it's usually the EGR valve. I only use Ford oil coolers. XDP sells the stock turbo for $720 new.

Hmm, seems that all the posts I have read lead me to believe theboiknsealnis leaking in the exhaust side of the turbo. The reason I was gonna go with my local supplier with the turbo, same price, but I can get it quicker with better warranty.

You can always rebuild the turbo yourself. It's honestly not too bad hardest part is lining up the vanes and pin on the exhaust side. The kit from KCTurbos is $100 US.

-Stick with an OEM oil cooler
-Update your STC fitting and change out all the hpop orings along with the IPR screen and orings (one kit from ford)

Thanks for the replies, I did find out why I had the p0401 still after I did egr valve, iat and maf, previous owner welded up the cooler and exhaust. Weird that I have owned it two years now and no code till now. Anyway, I went with the mishi cooler just because it has a lifetime warranty, and the fomoco one failed so why go back that route, I know, im all about factory replacement parts, but. All in all it appears to have turned out fine so far, seems to be running smoother as well.
