Hi slapshot12,
Can you elaborate on the pressure gauge, please? I just bought a Goosebox (20K), but haven't installed it yet (trailer is in the shop). I think the gauge sounds like a great idea. Details on what gauge and how you mounted it would be much appreciated!
Regards,
John
I installed a pressure gauge in mine as well. I also extended the release cable and moved it closer to the side of the rig so it was easier to reach to unhook. Only trick was the air fittings are not NPT, they are BSPP. I found adapters on Amazon, and used a Tee to connect the pressure gauge. I will try to get a photo tomorrow.
Interesting idea to extend the cable, would like to see how you dealt with that flaw.
I’ll try to get some pictures today. I got some stainless braided cable and put a pulley where the handle was mounted originally. Then took a piece of angle and drilled some holes in it, ran the cable through and put the original handle on the end. I mounted the angle on the underside of the fifth wheel overhang. It makes it much easier to use. The cable is only in use when unhooking, so no safety issue going down the road.
I like your extension ncitro. I am definitely going to do something similar.
Thanks! Sorry I did not get over to the rig today, I definitely will be other there tomorrow. It was pretty easy, I cut the factory cable and then there is a set screw in the stopper that holds it open you loosen and pull off. Then I got a small pully and fed a new cable through and reinstalled the stopper and handle. Makes it much easier to use.

I got a brass 1/4x1/4x1/4 NPT t-fitting (all female), a brass 1/4x1/4 NPT hose fitting (both male), and pressure gauge (Zenport DPG60) on Amazon, along with some Loctite 565 thread sealant. Putting it together is pretty easy. It’s really handy to have. Just a quick glance and you know, no dragging out a pressure gauge each time.
That hitch is not approved by Lippert so if you end up tearing up your frame you are out of luck on warranty.........
So not true. Could you please show us in writing where it says using a gen-y or andersen hitch will void the frame warranty. Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act: Warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with the product in order to retain the warranty.

According to the Magnuson-Moss Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot automatically cancel your warranty just because you’ve installed aftermarket car parts. This is an illegal practice. That said, if your aftermarket part somehow causes or contributes to a failure in your vehicle, the dealer may be able to deny your warranty claim—as long as they can prove the connection. In these cases, the burden of proof is entirely on the dealership.
. If you install an aftermarket hitch and crack the frame and then take it in, the dealer (Lippert) is going to tell you that the hitch caused the issue whether it did or not. It's your word against theirs. You are welcome to sue them but you will spend more money than your RV is worth and will probably still lose.
It doesn't matter whether the Gen Y hitch is bad or good. The simple fact is, if you use it and the frame breaks Lippert will more than likely not warranty it. This all came about because the original gooseneck adapters that came out were long and put leverage on the pin boxes and cracked them
I have read that the Gen Y is working on approval from Lippert but until then if you use one you are more than likely SOOL if the frame cracks.

If you use a 5 micron fuel filter and Ford says it did damage and it is the same or better than theirs, you have a case. If you break a frame and Lippert says it is the hitch, you may be totally right (and I suspect you would be in most cases). But the money you spend on attorneys and engineers to prove your case will probably be far more than the fix itself.
