1946 ford pickup project
in the mean time we finished the engine and dry fitted the transmition. Once we figured everything went together perfectly we finished up details and did the break in and dyno tuned the 351C.
finishes up the rear and now we will get back to fitting and fabrication.
some pictures
below...
Rear end and shocks in place
Another angle
Rear end painted and ready to go in place

When we figured out we had the wrong rotors 🤬
Engine coming together but we realized balancer was wrong, they sent us a balancer for a 351W
Engine and transmission dry fitted
Finally got the right balancer and was able to finish serpentine kit

couldn't attach the videos.... let me know what you think.
If so, it is a concern that we have! This week we will find out how bad the alignment is.
we are hoping it will just fit and we might have to fabricate a shifter with a forward angle.... at this point if it doesn't work i am not sure what i’ll do since we already have everything setup.
i’ll keep you posted.

hahaha good point. I am considering changing interior but for now i wanted to keep it stock. Lets see how it plays out.
maybe a ford ranger interior would fit not sure... but i really wanted the original interior.
the new power-plant and suspension and all is just to make the truck reliable and be able to fo cruising without concerns.
but as every project i am sure the original plan will be outgrown.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Ok, so engine and tranny went in. We had to relocate rack and pinion a little lower in order to clean oil pan. Made new custom motor mounts on chassis to hold engine in place and everything else went smoothly.
we then removed the engine again and started working on the engine bay firewall and taking apart the interior.
next we will fit engine back in order to figure out clutch and break pedal position and setup with break booster, master and valves. Then we will re wire the truck and start putting in back together... we are getting closer....
below is a little video of engine bay.
let me know what you guys think
we were able to set the engine low in the bay to lower center of gravity.
right now truck is sitting on suspension in order for it to settle some, so we can get back to work on it.
pedal relocation, wire harness and exhaust header are next on the list.
a little video of how the truck looks right now:
still gotta raise the front a bit and lower the rear some, level it and adjust everything....
i want to say end of Feb we should be done or close to it.
I recently purchased a 1946 ford pickup... since i planed to modify it i did the best i could with the budget i had. Honestly i believe i did preety darn good...
I found a 1946 with a 1964 small block in it, seller had told me it was a 302 but after some research i have discovered i have either a 260 or 289 (5 bolt bell housing pattern) Will only know for sure after i pull it out.
Stock 3 gear transmission with stock rear axle.
I will be doing a Complete overhaul. 351C already have the long block, T5 world class with s10 tail, and will be doing mustang 2 front with power steering and coil overs.
Now the question and or problem comes in here.... rear end. I had planned a 4 link with coil
over but i am afraid the stock diff wont hold the 351C and T5. What would you guys recommend? I do however want to keep the 5 in 5.5 bolt pattern. And obviously keep expenses down as much as possible.
I will add some pictures of the car and and will be updating everything as i start getting things done
oh and by the way... everything that comes out of the truck will be available if anyone is interested also just let me know.

We are in the final stages.
So first things first....
Trany and shifter location came out nice
Trany cover with shifter location worked out just fine!
fuel tank was installed in the rear.
Fuel tank on the rear close to the tailgate
Rear undercarriage
flowmaster muffler were installed and pipes end mid truck under everything, no exhaust pipes showing anywhere.
Exhaust
Exhaust
Bed wood was installed and is currently being stained for final assembly
Stripes are chromed and wood is being stained as I’m posting this!
Rewiring is in the works. We will be installing a dakota digital gauge and hidden vintage air A/C system.
the plan is to fabricate a metal strip to mount under dash and put a/c controls and vents on the strip in order to preserve original dash.
Working on cab and then moving to the hood.
Cab wiring
Rear is basically all wired up. Battery will probably go under the bed wood in order to maintain the engine compartment clean.
wheels and tires have arrived. Waiting for wiring to be done in order to dry fit wheels before sending it out to powder-coating.
Low profile tires with custom white stripes.
Detroit steel
Smoothies
and finally truck as it currently sits while getting rewired.
Still have to adjust coil overs for an even stance... thats after new wheels are installed.
we are probably looking at end of march or early April...
hope it entertains you guys.
please let me know what everyone thinks
