97 Explorer Tranfer Problems Help Me Please
Hello all
I am at wits end.I just bought a 1997 Ford Explorer (V6 Auto With Auto 4wd) 1 week ago . 3 days after i bought it it started making a real bad noise (Kind of a Grinding sound ) when i let off the gas and was coasting.I took it to the transmision guys .They pulled the transfer case and found a bunch of bad parts .Replaced them and put the transfer back in.They called me back and said it has a bad Motor of some sort on the transfer case.They replaced that and it still dosent work right.It seems that the motor doesnt have enough nuts to pull the thing all the way back.You can pull it out by hand real easy.My thought is it seems to be a voltage problem or something.I was just wondering if anybody had the same problem and a remedy.I am at $1300 and running out of cash quick with this thing .Help Please

if isnt your ony vehicle take the transfer case out yourself will take time since u cant jack it up high but im sure u come out cheaper i did but took me a few days take it down buy parts blabla bla pain but i know i didd better jub then local shop
take the transfer case only not transmission transmission is hevy
