Hi guys, my hitch I use was originally for my f150. I have a 250 now. I lowered and angled my ball mount which helped a lot however I need to put more squat in the truck than I like to level the Rv. Result is front end feels very light. Could I just go to a new draw bar with a lower mounting position to level everything off or do you think I need a whole new set up? Thanks in advance. Rv is roughly 9500lb, 32ft. (Yes I know, was pushing my luck with 150.)
Yes, you can get a new shank. I encourage you to seek help from a local shop that can assist you in setting up your wdh properly. Many of us know how, but it's a process. Should you wish to attempt, be sure to watch many youtube videos for help, then ask us further after you are somewhat familiar with the process.
I ended up in a similar situation when I went from a 150 to a 250. I started by buying a shank with more drop so I could lower the W/D head. I ended up not liking that situation because there was a lot of play with the shank and the reducer sleeve. The whole set-up (with the exception of the shank I bought) was probably 25 years old so I ended up retiring it and buying a new Andersen setup with a 2.5" shank. For your situation, you should be able to get a shank with more drop but I'd get a set of instructions for your hitch on how to properly set it up. It's not always as simple as just lower the head and go, some require additional adjustment.
Thanks guys, think I may just upgrade my setup. Our Rv is about 10k so don't really wanna band aid anything! I will say this about the 7.3, my set up may be a little off but man does this power train pull!!

I upgraded to a Equalizer E4 1400/14000 when I bought our new 2020 Outback 300ML, which has a GVWR of 9500 too. I am very happy with it. Our old trailer was only 7600 pounds and have a Equalizer E4 1000/10000 that's now sitting around collecting dust!
