Have had an occasional tick since it was new in 2013, at 96,000+ now so I don't exactly worry about it any more.

Hi everyone I'm new and have a couple of questions I have a 2016 6.2 old fleet truck but looks like a higher up had it truck is pretty clean for a fleet truck anyway when I bought it no noises at all anyway. I did plugs which it needed and an oil change at 130000 I run 5000 oci so I ran it to an even number and changed it. When I got it it had a new off brand filter and clean oil I bought it at a used car lot. So I did the oil change the other day and immediately after starting it, it was ticking used motor craft oil and an fl820s filter it's coming from the left front of the motor it goes away at about 1500 rpm and runs fine starts fine not a bad tick sound like a lifter. And it doesn't go away I can drive it 100 miles and come to a stop and she still ticks I haven't called ford yet nor have the money to deal with dealers so anyway some assistance would be helpful thank you

I have a tick that goes away after ~20 seconds or so of warm up. Very loud at the start, subsides but still around. Noticeable when I accelerate. Someone told me its a cracked exhaust manifold but I haven't had it checked...

I changed my oil and the tick seemed to disappear....but I forgot that I had also added a bottle of Seafoam to the tank a few days prior to changing the oil, so either one (or both) may have had the effect.
Can't hurt to try both!

Did they replace the whole rail or just the rocker arms?

Hey everyone I posted couple months ago about a tick on my 6.2 and then it was just a tick on the left side now it went to missing at an idle but not at rpm I have a friend with a good scan tool and looked at what was going on at a idle the whole left side is missing intermittent and cylinder 5 is the worst one I put new plugs in a while back and checked the coils and the coils looked fine I don't think it's fuel or spark issues because it's just on the left side some help would be appreciated if you guys have any idea thank you

I ran the Motorcraft oil and filter on mine at first didnt like the way it sounded. Next change I used Castrol Edge and Mobile1 filter alot better. The last 2 changes I started using Amsoil Signature Series and Amsoil filter and truck sounds a hell of alot better and seems to like it.
