Paint removal

I swapped paint with a pole in a parking lot. Luckily, I didn't dent my fender, but now I have a strip of white paint on my truck from the pole. What is the safest way to get off? My truck is hunter green.

Sort of depends on the paint. If I have a urethane that is well cured, a little lacquer thinner on a rag usually takes care of the problem. On the other hand, if the paint is a lacquer (which is rare now a days) or an enamel, that some light buffing coumpound will usually do it. If you use lacquer thinner, be careful. The stuff can skin enamel off of teeth I swear.

By the way, you have a dent if there was paint transfer. Just not a big one.

my truck is a 2001, so it should be well cured and it "should" be urethane. I also read somewhere to try gas. Should I try gas first?

Your truck is a urethane unless it has been repaintd with something else.

I'm not a big lover of gasoline for anything except fueling my engine. You might give it a try though and see how it works.

Whatever you decide to use, proceed with care and take your time.
