Pulled beside em at the light and there was 8” of air between the bars and body. Now, at that point I stopped thinking wth and started thinking about a broken leg on a rainy day.

I thought perhaps he was trying to protect his mirrors. Imagine if they were Dodge mirrors!

Could it be a old person or disabled person that has a hard time getting in the truck?

Initially thought that. No disabled placard and a relatively healthy looking 30 or so year old.

Or wanted to keep them but the wife said "not unless I can use them as a step safely!" because nerf bars ain't always the best way to get in or out of a truck!
One high heel too many on a Friday night date night getting caught up between the cab and bar, and that ultimatum has been uttered more than once I'd bet.
