Truck is a 2000 F250. Trying to put the axle and hub back together on the front end. My problem is when I go to put the three washers and one snap ring back on the groove for the ring is still under the washers. Almost like the axle is too far in. There is a small groove in the knuckle, I dont remember if the race for the seal is supposed to sit in line behind or in front of that groove. Anyone know?
Where is the plastic washer? who mashed the seal? not good.
put axle in.. put washer on.... grooves facing inward w/grease. next grease bearing and bolt bearing up.
put in 3 washers metal in middle..if you can't put clip on try to pry axle out from ujoint area...

the seal is fine for the most part, those are just dings in the surface. It appears that somehow we got it 1/16" too far in and now it wont come back out. The outer rubber piece refuses to slide. I tool the washer off while I was working on it.
I grease the whole place where the seall goes in case it has to come apart again.
yeah I'm going to do that on the passenger side. Turns out the passenger side had a wrecked needle bearing not the drivers like I thought. Also found the plastic thrust washer broken. And
as luck would have it no parts stores even know what it is. I'd imagine it's a poor idea to try and "fix" it.
dealer was not overly helpful but I did get one ordered from a heavy truck repair shop that should be here by noon tomorrow. Hopefully he said $5 a d not like $35 haha.
