This is all great info, thank you! I looked for days for these diagrams/CAD illustrations without luck. Where do you get these? I'll let you know what I do with it in about a week or so. Thanks again!
I really don't care if there's a law against it. I'd rather get a ticket than not know if my bike has fallen over. I do a lot of woodworking as well and just want to keep an eye on the load at night. It's not like I'm gonna flip them on when there are cars behind me.
Yeah...it's not like the cargo lights are bright enough to even be a distraction to anyone behind you anyways...
Well...I just bought the service manuals and wiring diagrams....that hurt a bit but I've always used them on all my vehicle so hopefully it's worth it. I'll make sure to update this thread if I'm able to figure all of this out. Thanks again.
Well....I still haven't figured it out completely but I'm getting close. Turns out that if I want to be as **** and OCD about this as I want to be, I need a circuit attached to the headlight switch to bypass the BCM and go directly to the cargo lamps. This is all because I want to use the OEM push button to control the LED cargo lamps. So far, I only have a circuit in theory but hopefully I will be able to install it into the truck soon. If anyone knows anything about electronics I would love to hear your input.
The circuit on the top right is basically the high-mounted stoplight/cargo light bar. The very top switch is the brakes, the switch under it represents the BCMs control of the cargo lamps and the circuit and switch on the bottom left is the circuit that I need to build. I'll let you all know how it goes.
