If anyone hasn’t seen this, my 2017 with a wireless charger for my iPhone this dongle connects reliably just takes a couple extra seconds. Running audio and Waze daily, it’s nice to just put the phone in the charger and go.

If you have an aftermarket audio system and care about audio quality, the wireless connections like this deliver audibly inferior sound. Convenient, but at a cost for some.
Alpine wireless CarPlay sounds flawless at all volumes. YouTube, Spotify, etc - great sound. One of my first adds to the truck - ditched the tiny screen.

Which headunit did you go with? Do you have any pics? I really want to upgrade my 4.2” sync, thanks
has anyone used this with the factory radio? Any issues?
UPDATE: I tried it. It doesn’t work at all. It is supposed to connect to the trucks head unit, then you connect your phone to the dongle. The dongle will not connect to the truck. I tried to update the firmware via a thumb drive but that won’t work either. From what I can tell, it is possible to send it back (to China) and request a refund, but I’m not going to do that since shipping is another $30 or so. I’m cutting my losses here at $160. Read through some Reddit posts and other users had similar problems that were never resolved.
