Hey guys. So I have a 2001 F250 with a 7.3. Ive been having some issues with the steering and I am lost where to look next. And this is where you come in.
the steering will wonder to the right, as I gradually counter steer this, itll “pop” or jerk back left and then wonder right again and so on so forth. I have replaced left bearing, Control arm, gear box, shocks, left front U-joint and had an alignment done 3 days ago. All this work is less than 2 weeks old. It drove fine for a couple days then started again. I pull a small 5X10 lawn trailer and then grass clippings in the bed, but other than that, it don’t get worked super hard. Can any one point me where to look next to correct this issue. Thank u.
Start with jacking up the front end and properly checking the tie rods and pitman arm drag link and ball joints. ANY play in the front end will not be safe and can and will cause your truck to not drive properly.
also look at the two steering u joints for any play.
Post again what you find and if you want to know to check the front end ask. Good Luck
