1999 7.3l transmission problem?

Got this truck for a tow rig and it's been nothing but problems. It's an early 99 f 350 7.3l automatic 4x4
The main ongoing problem seems to be slow on the low end. Unless you are almost pinned it just feel like no power.
things that I have done:
fuel screens
fuel crossover
oil crossover
turbo rebuild
mishimoto trans cooler
New magnifine filter
hpop rebuild (blew oring)
new exhaust manifolds and up pipes
new glow plugs
new radiator
suspension and steering parts
T case rebuilt by shop
transmission rebuilt by shop but really not sure on it.
Had shop scanner check and nothing stood out all sensors and injectors passed

it's been a long road and alot of work to make this thing road worthy guess that's what I get for $1800.

Ok back to the problem, as stated above feels like not much low end but the problem may have just showed itself. Was towing a loaded trailer probably about 6klbs small snowcat and 16ft gooseneck. All was going good for about 60 miles besides low end was doing a bit of coasting down hill ( live in mountains) then on started to go up the final hill to home and seemed like I was all the sudden in neutral instead of gear. Stopped to try and check if in gear and the whole thing was locked up. Would not roll back in neutral or move in any gear. Didnt matter 4wd hi or 2wd. Wouldnt go into 4wd low. So I know it's probably not the best thing but we were stuck in the middle of the road with a trailer so I stuck it into first gear to check if it was engaging and revved it up it got to about 2.5k to 3k rpm and started to act like it was engaging then a loud pop and everything was free again. Drove about 200 ft and it locked up again and had a small line of fluid on ground.
pull the rear drive shaft still all locked up. Pulled front driveshaft which felt bonded and was tough to get last bolt out but when it did come out it popped and seemed to be freed up I could roll again. Finally have got it home and starting to look at it. The truck towed home fine so the rear axle is not locked up. The front and rear outputs on the tcase spin freely by hand and the front axle yoke spins by hand and turn axles.
Has anyone every had this problem? Or where would you start with diagnosing this?

new here sorry it was kind of alot but thank you for reading. I'm guessing a hard part went bad inside the trans or tcase but really not sure.
Thanks ahead of time for information

Is the transfer case electric or manual shifted? Id get the transfer case in neutral and remove the bell housing access cover from the case. With a big screw driver you should be able to rotate the flywheel. Could help you tell if its a bound up torque converter. Other things to try is dropping the transmission cover and check the filter for metal shavings and smel it for a burnt odor. When the truck wouldn't drive in gear did the engine bog down when you tried to drive? You could have busted clutches inside the transmission.
