Battery Management system - Success?
Has the battery management system been a success for Ford owners measurable in longer battery life or just a gimmick and problematic for owners?
I have not experienced any problems with Non BMS vehicle batteries lasting 4-6 years without issue. Both AGM and Costco flood batteries for my vehicles. I googled it and cannot find an answer? From what I have read this has been onboard Ford vehicles since 2011..

* So Ford owners, HAVE your batteries lasted longer with only a 50% charge rather than a full charge of 12.6 - 13.1 resting? Since my 2019 Ranger only holds 12.2 Volts resting because of how it works and parasitic electrical draw. For that reason I am thinking of disconnecting it since I don't use stop start anyway. I would prefer to have a fully charged battery of 12.6 or better than running at 50%.

The BMS was never designed for battery life. The batteries don't last very long as lots have found. The BMS does help ford increase CAFE numbers and thats what counts. With the BMS disabled for the last 50k my mileage has stayed the same, my charge voltage stays steady at 14.3 and no more low battery charge.
