I finally amassed a full set of the interior door panel trim for my 65 F100 C.C and need the panels that go inside. I have looked at the stuff on DC and don't care for the plastic they use. I can make custom inserts but I kind of need a pattern, a tracing, a blueprint, something. I can't do it freehand. Anyone got a pattern that I can make full size or any clever ideas?
Install the trim to the door with heavy paper or thin cardboard underneath. You can then trace the pattern and use as a template by adding a little around the circumference. That’s how I made my template because I found the plastic repops unacceptable. I transferred the template to the flexible covers that cover up the bottom of big industrial light fixtures (Lexan or some similar trade name). It’s tough and flexible enough to follow the door contours. Glued some padding to it once it was sized correctly and covered with some nice vinyl that was a color and texture I liked.
