2001-2002 cougars

hello all... I am looking for your opinions on a 2001-2002 Mercury Cougars its got to be the C2, XR, or ZN models... which most are 2.5l v6's with a 5speed... I am looking around to buy one of these cars and would like your opinions on the cars... yes, I know they are a Car not A truck or a BRONCO like I have for myself... so no bashing on me ok! umm
I need a car b/c I just cant afford the cost of repairs and the gas... I am a student in highschool if your wondering why I cant afford the truck... After I graduate I will need something a lot better on gas and very realiable...

Dont get me wrong I love my truck and am keeping her, I would never trade her in, I grew up with her...

have you guys had any bad experiances with the cars?
and no i'm not planning on ricing this car out b/c 1st I hate ricers and 2nd I will not put a v6 against a V8 I KNOW the difference lol... my moms 98 caddy has the 4.6 DOHC with 300hp... than there is my sisters 95 taurus with a 3.0V6(vulcan is the name of the motor) anyways..

I am going to get this car no matter what you guys say I would just like your opinions....
Thanks, Charlie

My ex has a 2002. When we were looking, we talked to a few owners and they had nothing but good things to say about them. We ordered hers fully loaded except leather because it looked really tacky to say the least (can't say what I really thought it looked like in clean language) . I only got to drive it once before we split and except for lack of leg room ( I'm 6'3") it seemed pretty decent for a car. Personally I don't care for cars but I would probably buy a Cougar myself if the price of gas gets any higher. My neighbour has one also and she says she loves it. Fortunatly for me, I can't tell you if my ex still likes hers. LOL
