Ok I have to rant! I've been looking on cardomain, trying to see what i want to do for a nice summer car. As I look every one seems to call spoilers wings! why!!! It's not a wing! If it were a wing, the back of your car would lighten up and your handling would get worst! Your car dosen't have 747 written on it so why a wing?
This just proves that most people dont know what the intended use is! So why have it if you dont know what it's there for!
" oh I know it looks nice" not! It may very well add drag and weight, hence slowing your car down!
ok I'm done. Does any one have a focus, or a v6 mustang or both. These are the two cars I'm considering. I can get a base v-6 mustang coupe for the same price as a fully loaded zx-3 Focus. I have a feeling that the focus with the 2.3 liter would be just as fast while insurance would be less and gas milage would be better. anyways what do you guys think?
Dude, go with the mustang. My parents bought my little sister one of those focuses (or is it foci) and it was the biggest pile I have ever seen. It was always in the shop for warranty work or recalls.
I would definitely go with the 'stang. When my truck was in the shop last year, they gave me a rental Focus....I HATED it. I felt like I was driving a Honda civic...it was just so SMALL. Bus as for the "wings," I think a bunch of ricer guys decided on that one... Like WingsWest.com, they sell spoilers and body kits, etc. for imports.
Are those the two finalist i.e. Focus or V6 Mustang ??? If so, I will vote for the Mustang...Is the nomination for summer car still open? Would you consider imports??
Friend has a Focus.. nice car, runs good. Its not a Zx-3 or anything tho
Id go with the Focus, its cheaper on gas, cheaper on insurance and runs pretty well
Also, the Focus she has is a 2003, so I think some of the bugs are worked out.
i would go with the focus. v6 mustangs are junk. at about 100,000 miles or less you will be replacing head gaskets. the 3.8 liter v6 has to be the worst. not much power bad gas milege, lot's of repairs. the focus it a pretty good car now that they have worked most of the bugs out. and see if you can afford an svt, those are fun little cars. also the focus will out handle any mustang stock. also, what ever you do, get a 5-speed!
Hey as far as import I kind of looked around(new civics look nice). But I started working for a local ford dealership and I hear the discounts are pretty decent so thats my reason. I was crusing around to a couple dealerships today and one I stopped in quick happend to have an svt, fully loaded and it window stickered at a hair over 20 grand. See this is all a little while down the road, maybe a year or so. Towards the end of college. Its going to come quick tho so I'm doing my reaserch now. I originally was thinking about replacing my ranger with a 2004 F-150 because I think there sweet and at that point my ranger is gonna be up there in milage. but I thought about it and I decided that untill ford offers a stick and manual hubs I dont want one, so then I started looking at a 250 w/5.4 and 6 speed. I decided that it was probally going to be a while till I could afford something like that, escpecially if I start looking for my own place. Then I thought about a fox body mustang as a summer car but decided that I really wanted something all my own and went from there. So at this point my eyes are open to either a mustang V-6, focus zx-3 or svt, or maybe a civic coupe ex. dont worry if I get a four banger it wont be riced out. I'm just looking for a nice summer toy, stick, leather would be nice, sunroof or conv't is a must, reasonably quick and fun to drive. I'de much rather stay with ford because of the discount. The other side of it is that if I need to drive the focus in winter weather I could unlike a mustang. Although I might still look into a fox body mustang for now. If I did trade in my ranger for something I would hate to climb into a new vehicle at the end of the day. I've gotten pretty dirty on the first two days.
