Just letting people know, Ford oem boots no longer come with springs. I don't know if I'll reuse the springs, or return the boots, and use aftermarket.
That's somewhat odd but honestly I've never purchase MC boots by themselves. For a while NAPA's versions were a Belden part, great quality and included the spring. Recently I bought like 20 DG-508 Motorcraft that included the boot and spring.
I'd check with NAPA or other good quality parts seller---typically the aftermarket parts will include the spring.
Wait, what is the part number of those boots without the springs? Where did you get them?
I've seem a lot of parts at auto parts stores are missing something, like someone bought it, took out a part, and then returned it for full price. The chances of that with 10 random boots is kinda slim, but I find it hard to believe they stopped putting the spring in with the boot, unless there's two different MC part numbers, one with one without.
I got them from white bear Ford. They don't even show the springs on the parts lookup. I called them, and they couldn't find the springs listed anymore.??
Honestly we started buying the NGK boots in bulk years ago to service the fleet. Pretty sure these are made by the OE manufacturer of the original as they have the same mold stamps and numbers match. Advance has them very cheap!
