I have a 01 f250 with a 5.4 and have wanted to do a diesel swap for awhile now and I have my chance. I plan on putting a nv5600 on it. My first question is do I need to upgrade the rear end? And I'm wondering if it is reasonable to swap the cab onto the dodge frame? The dodge has 4 wheel drive and the Ford doesn't. I'm just curious to explore all my option.
I'm not of much help on this subject matter, but the question in my mind becomes, what's wrong with the cab on the Dodge that you would want to justify the expense and trouble of wanting to swap the cab of the Ford onto it? I have difficulty understanding the benefit of doing so.

the interior is trashed and the exterior isn't great.
Check out Diesel Conversion Specialists. They have kits & parts for conversions on both diesel & gas trucks. You could do a custom coil over setup on the front using the Dodge front axle.
