hey guys so my e250 driver door doesnt work anymore i had to fix it million times and now and it wont work anymore.. i went to all the scrap yards in Toronto and couldnt find anything. what i mostly found was the E350 parts. my question would these work on the E250?
Yes, the sheet metal is all the same. The only thing that you need to look for is the mirror. There was some changes in varying years.
Beginning about 2003 I believe the mirror mounts changed---from the 3 stud to the 4 stud. As Jimbomitch says they're the same from 1992 to 2002 and then from 2003 to 2013 which was the last year of the full metal body E-Series.
Here's two photos showing the easily seen differences:
Even the extendable towing mirrors use the 2003 and later door shells FWIW.
So a related question... is it just the mirror mounts difference on the 1992-2002 and the 2003-2013 doors? I know that there are also some electrical changes as well.
The reason for my question is that I have a 1994 E350 with manual locks/windows and I'd like to get power locks/keyless entry at a minimum so I was thinking of swapping in newer doors with PL/PW. I was planning on getting aftermarket key fobs and maybe get a keyless alarm. I would prefer to go with the latest model doors as possible for the added inside door panel pockets, etc.
What would be the best / easiest door swap for a 1994 E350?
Doors from the 92 and onward fitting an E-Series regardless its chassis fit everything else. There are very few if any deviations from an E-150, E-250, E350---if its an E-Series doors fit.
The door SHELLS aka "sheet metal" EXCEPT FOR THE MIRROR MOUNTING AREAS are all the same from 1992 to 2013. Interior trim panels will interchange as will the glass and window regulator. IF power door locks or power windows are present the wiring harness inside the door as well as the chassis wiring they attach too will be different from year to year. IF you have power mirrors that would change which wiring harness is needed, the trim panel for the PDL's & PW's would be different too.
Apart from those changes the doors interchange--plain and simple. IF you're harvesting from a scrap yard pay attention to which exterior mirrors were originally installed.
Thanks JWA!
Do you know if the E-Series Vans all have the body/chassis PW/PL/PM wiring harness and its just not hooked up without the PW/PL/PM doors?
My '94 door panels have "screws" all around the door panels so they are a bit different then the newer door panels. I already removed my old mirrors and drilled out my doors to attach the 4 post mirrors - that was an easy mod.

Thanks again!
Chances are for that year the wiring harnesses will NOT be present. The only way to know is remove the interior trim and check.
In the unlikely event they are present the pin out connection schemes would not be compatible with chassis wiring found in later years.
