I have a couple vans, when opening the door they over extend and have caused damage, no factory installed stops, has anyone used some type of strap to stop door from over extending?
I've not seen too much in the area of a door swing check system for the front doors. I'm careful to control how the doors open when operating them---in cases where the the van is parked with the rear significantly higher than the front---like my driveway--I don't allow them to just flop open and bounce against the hinges. In high wind situations they're closed fully, never left hanging half open.
It would be nice if something like what's factory-installed on the side and rear doors were available but I've never seen such a thing.
Please let us know if you find something useful---most of us would be open to trying it I'm sure.

Installed a strap off a jeep a while back, didn't last long,.
You are correct not much out there.
In my fleet I have 4 ford E250's that all have had damage from over extension,2006, 2008 & and a 2010
Just picked up a 2018 Transit yesterday and I'm pretty sure Ford took care of the door hinge issue, impressed so far
