Hey guys, I just bought a 2001 F250 with the V10, it has 160k miles on it. It drives great, shifts great, and has a great service record. The only problem is that it shakes. The shaking is always there, especially when I do put it into gear. The rpms never fluctuate or anything like it’s missing, I have no dash lights too. Is this something to be worried about or is it just an old truck thing?
You could move those coils and see if the misfire follows. If so, the coils are likely suspect. It's also possible all the plugs are wearing, if you don't know when they were last replaced
If you replace plugs & coils make sure to get them from a reputable source. Not eBay. Some places on Amazon are reputable.
There are A LOT (and I mean A LOT) of deep fakes on the market. The packaging will look mostly legit and the seller will claim they are OEM. Don't mess around with aftermarket coils that claim better performance. Motorcraft only, or some guys use Denso as they are allegedly the manufacturer of MC (I'm not saying they are or are not)
