^^^^^^^^[Why would a person put battery connections in a wheel well, its about the worst place on any vehicle, rocks, water, snow,. the cable setup shown in the pict is to me a no brainer, make a bracket for the connector in the grill, or tuck it in the grill.

Deleted as I realized the OP wants to remove the door cylinder. Wonder why.
For this use case, why not just use a quality 'hide-a-key'? Get the key, open the door, pop the hood, jump the truck.

Better smash a rear window. Don't try the front windows they are tougher than they appear because they are safety laminated glass.
