Lol, I just read your post again and thats almost 15k off MSRP. That was absolutely not X-plan and just might be the best discount Ive seen. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of discounts. There must have been a large PCO involved because factory rebates are minimal.
Yes indeed it was about 5k below what I was prepared to pay, they probably gave me way more than I expected for the dented F250, I probably could have gotten a little more but from pulling in doing a test drive and leaving in my truck was under 3 hours. either way I'm happy.
Just bought a 2020 Platinum F350 DRW 6.7, 87,213 MSRP, With dealer discount, incentives and X-Plan paid 72,500 before trade-in, tax, title doc fee. Got a good value on the 2015 F250 I traded-in as well. Build date was 11/19 so it was on the lot for a while.
Where did you get that deal? That's 17% off MSRP. I'm getting the itch really bad but can't find the one I'm looking for. I know I'll get flamed for this but I actually looked at some GMC Denalis. They are a good bit cheaper than the Fords but they aren't equipped as nice either. No Amp steps, no upfitters, and there's that funky tailgate, and the fact that in my opinion, the interiors of the Fords are a lot nicer. I'm not trading my '18 Platinum so I can grab one of those cheap plane tickets and go pick it up, if I can find one. Still looking.

So, that 15k off the MSRP was before, or including your trade?
Including trade, title, tax and fees for Cook County IL, also paying off 8,683 owed on the dented rear passenger door and Qtr panel F250, I wrote a check for 65121.
Golf Mill Ford in Niles IL, that was the last Platinum F350 they had and the last DRW Platinum within 100 miles, it's build date was 11/19.

So $14,7**k off PLUS more than you expected for your trade, I'm surprised you didn't get a call saying, "we made a mistake" hahaha. So how much was your PCO for? Must of had one, because with only $1250 off from Ford that would leave over $13k in discounts.
No PCO that I know of, But I have owned Fords forever. I'm sure they didn't lose anything let's just assume I'm wrong on the value of the trade-in and they gave me more on the trade than I valued it at. Everything on the invoice is shown as trade-in, so I don't know real selling price and real trade-in value. but when I back into it removing taxes, fees, payoff, incentives they gave me, on paper, 6k less than it's sticker price on a 5 year old dented F250.
My negotiations skills are very lacking reading this thread. With approximate 6% off sticker for invoice. The 87K truck would have an approximate invoice of $81K. Dealer holdback is listed at 3%which if you get all of that would bring it to around $79K. If it was aged inventory then can take another $1250 off that leaves around $5,250 in other discounts and incentives. I wonder what a typical dealer holdback actually is with people are getting that good of a deals. Unless I get a PCO or incentives get better I will be at almost 8% below sticker when the truck gets here. Which I thought was pretty good deal before reading this.
I was trying to figure out why a 11/19 build was still there, Only oddities would be location based. DRW with 4.10 gears in Chicago. Their website posting I saw before going in showed an 11.4% discount, then add 1250 in incentives before negotiations. Like I said they probably gave me 5k more than I thought I would get on the trade-in. What might have helped, I handed them my phone to look at my loan account number to get the pay off amount, while in his hand a text popped up from another dealer saying "We have a F450 not listed on our website that is exactly what you want, call me"
Its not that uncommon for a truck to sit 3,4,5 months on a lot. My local dealer still has a 2019 F350 DRW Super Duty with a 10/18 build date. My own truck(2019) was a January build, I purchased in May 19.
Generally, at least from what Ive seen, the big (10%+) adverstised discounts include all non conditional rebates and dealer discount in that advertised price. Koons is a good example of that.
My 19 purchase was a slightly higher discount, percentage wise, not dollar amount, but that was only because of a large PCO. It was much easier in my case to know exactlly what the discounts consisted of, they were also seperate line items on my price qoute. I did not have a trade in.

That may be some of the issue with trying to buy a Tremor. Most places around here don’t have a gas one on the lot for more than 2 weeks. The first one I looked at sold in 4 days. It had the chrome package which is not my cup of tea. I am in the black out crowd.
Before the whole virus thing I was traveling the state for work quite a bit so would stop in to an area dealer and inquire on a Tremor. Got on countless mailing lists and no deals to be had even after the virus.
The latest one I was contacted by a dealer on sold in a week as well. That dealer is one of the no haggling price lots that only does invoice plus a high doc fee which will eat up most of the current Ford incentive ($500).
Many of the Tremors I have found within a 300 mile driving distance are at the high pressure up sell type lots. They sell them so quickly it is hard to get get a deal when someone else is willing to pay the higher price.
I'm looking at a couple of trucks now. '20 Limited CC SWB. List price $88,815 / Discount $9379 / Sell Price $79,436. By the time TTT & associated BS is added on the drive out price is $85,517.72
Same dealer. '20 Platinum CC SWB 6.7 PSD. List price $83,120 / Discount $9666 / Add bed liner $399 / Sell price $73,853. TTT & BS drive out is $79,599.74.
The Platinum is discounted roughly 11% and the Limited is at roughly 10-1/2% discount. This is the initial offer and my daughter & S-I-L bought a '19 Expedition Max Limited from this guy last year so we have some history. He'll need to sharpen his pencil some more and hopefully I can find a CPO to make it sweeter.
I just got a quote from a dealer in OH for $443 below MSRP. See email exchange below.
Thank you for providing me with these quotes, however these vehicles are priced too high. You are going to have to do WAY better than $443 below MSRP for me to consider driving halfway across the country to purchase a truck from your dealership. You are more than welcome to sharpen your pencil and try again. If you're not willing to negotiate the price of either of these trucks, I thank you for your time and wish you luck finding someone dumb enough to pay almost full retail price in this kind of economy.
Jason, Though I appreciate you reaching out to us, there is currently none of these trucks being made nore is the market flooded with them. If anything should change before they sell, please let us know!
This is very similar to every dealer I've contacted in the last week. So much for getting a good deal on a new truck...
