here’s where it gets tricky we where planning on keeping his auto shift tcase. But wiring in dash runs into main dash harness but the tcase harness under truck runs threw hole in floor board. Just wondering if anyone has messed with the electric shift in these years and if something like this is possible. Mainly trying to keep due to not wanting to buy tcase. Along with though it would be a neat thing to have.
Following along. I think it is very do able. I doubt the switch has full current through it so most likely there are some relays like hi range, lo range, 2wd. Then you have to find a place in the cab for the switch.
You need to find and isolate the 'electric shift control module' Book shows passenger kick panel area.
VSS reports to it, NSS position on the auto, range position, etc. It probably is very easy to retain or trick as I would think the VSS input prevents a shift to 4-low at speeds over 5mph, for example. It seems to have been behind 4R70Ws and E4ODs per the EVTM.
If you are nice, you can PM me your number and I will send you the pictures over text of the schematics.
