I have pulled the 4.9 out of my 1990 ford f140 and have put in its place a 1995 5.0 v8, everything is bolted up and now we have an issue with the dash wiring and Especially the ignition switch wiring, does anyone here have any experience cross wiring these two wire harness to get the ignition to work?
I have my dash pulled out and am going to modify it to hold the newer much updated instrument panel, and we are taking the entire wire harness fro mthe 95 and putting it into the 1990 dash ( because the 1995 dash will not bolt into the 1990 cab) so we have the entire new harness and the entire old harness to work with, i was thinking of cutting the ignition switch wires and wiring the old switch into the cut harness, thoughts?

any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Mike,
I don't have much to offer on your engine/trans swap, but sorry to see you give up with your "laggy 4.9".
Way back when, your last post was right about the time a hurricane was moving up your direction..........then you disappeared.
Good luck on the swap you're doing....you'll get it.........
thanks, ill need it, worse case scenario, i redneck mount all the 95 truck components into my older dash and live life with what it is... hopefully i wont have to go that far, who knows...
