I *think* the plugs at the end of the 92-96 harness are square whereas the 91's are round.

Yep, they're different... but you can buy the injector plug pigtails at most auto part stores to repair your existing harness.

I'm not going to say it's impossible, but it would be very difficult.
The '91 has 4 plugs to connect the engine wiring to the chassis wiring... The '92-'96 has 1 big plug to connect the engine wiring to the chassis wiring.
I suppose if you're really good with wiring diagrams and un-pinning/re-pinning wire connectors it might be possible, but it's certainly not something I'd want to do.

It would be MUCH easier to buy the repair pigtails for the injectors and repair the pigtails on your existing harness.

I recently faced the exact same delima. I'm putting a '95 5.8L in my '91. Rather than trying to repin the '95 wiring harness to connect to my '91 wiring I ended up scavenging a '91 wiring harness from a junkyard. When you take a look at the connectors you'll see why... they're WAY different.

In summary... It may be do-able, but it ain't gonna be easy.

There are only 3 wires feeding the injectors on that truck, a common power lead linked to all of them and 2 separate grounds linked to batches of 3. A donor harness would be a good way to get the necessary parts but you don't need the whole engine harness just these wires. With this small section removed from the donor harness you could just add it on top of what is already there in your truck and insert the pins in the existing bulkhead connectors or splice them in if the connector pins are different. I'd suggest cutting off the old injector connectors just to minimize confusion but no need to remove the old wiring once it is disconnected.

No that is the WHOLE engine harness, but yes that perfectly demonstrates the differences from the early to later models.

True, but there is no stand-alone injector harness from the factory that I'm aware of.
The wires for the injectors are part of the whole engine harness.
So, unless you build your own or buy some sort of conversion harness there's no such thing as an "injector harness".

There is a "fuel charge" harness, which is everything sitting on the engine including the injectors, and an "engine control" harness, which typically includes most of the rest of the under hood harness.

Yes, I read it and understood it - and you are correct, of course - but it sounded like the OP was looking for a new harness that would plug up and work.
I was just making him aware that the '87 - 91 wiring will not plug up to the '92-95 wiring.

I truly meant no disrespect to you or anyone - just trying to save the OP some headaches.
My apologies.

Ok yes.. there is no direct plug and play without changing the whole harness... which is a lot of work for 3 wires. But then other parts of the harness could be chewed up too and are not yet obvious so maybe that is the best action to take anyway.
