codes P0263 and P0281
Some interesting things here. I"m having some challenges doing a buzz test with Car Gauge Pro as it will not completly do the test. I only get one code with tuner pro rt. I get both codes with Car Gauge Pro and Blue Driver.
Torque pro rt;
My FICM volts during start up via Tuner Pro RT = 48v
ICP is over 500 upon starting so it starts fine, however idle seems a bit low
In Tuner Pro RT, I get only the P0263 code.
I connect my Blue Driver OBD scanner (supposed to be super good for pulling all codes on any vehicle) and I get P0263 and 0281. Cylinder 1 and 7.
I also get both codes with Car Gauge Pro.
I connect the Car Gauge Pro app and I am supposed to be able to do an injector Buzz test, but my buzz test is incomplete.
The program will buzz the injectors for the initial buzz, however, that's all that happens. The buzz test normally will get all the injectors to buzz through a cycle, then go through a single buzz for each of the 8 injectors. Mine is not going thorough the individual injectors. The Car Gauge Pro app buzzes all injectors and then says "unknown code, please wait" and nothing happens.
What should I do from here?
Idle correction; I checked my idle and it was between 620-730 rpm's with HPOP pretty steady around 700-800..If I remember correctly.
Kind of out of sorts here, rebuilding my Audi A6 waiting on turbos
Wife was admitted to the hospital for ........yep CV-19
Now, my truck is showing it's sick too
After I cleared the codes, I immediately got a p0263. Going out to check with blue driver since that is very accurate for codes. When it rains, it pours I guess
I don't know anyone with IDS.
I'll figure it out, eventually with the help on the forums.
Thanks!
Covid is a real threat. I"m a paramedic and see it first hand. I fear I may have brought it home
who knows? I do think there is a political agenda behind this sham! Compare it to H1N1, numbers are not that different. Our media is making a circus out of this whole thing! However, when patients get sick with CV-19, they get sick! My wife had a temp of 101 for 7 days, then it went to 103.6 for 2 days. She's admitted to a local hospital, has not eaten for a week and not improving. @ this point, the patients either get Really Sick or make a turn for the better. Praying for the latter with new experimental drug on Monday. But, I agree about the sham, I'm laughing my *** off at the idiots driving their cars with masks on or even outside, ridiculous!
My girlfriend works in TICU and deals with Covid patients every day as does my ex wife, two of my ER doctor friends and my sister is an RN in New York state at a smaller hospital up there. I know it’s real but the statistics are not accurate and the shut down of our economy was uncalled for.
Back to trucks...I hope you get it figured out. If you were local I’d bring my laptop and run IDS diag on it for you. Prayers for your wife’s health.
Over the past couple years Forscan is the best choice for diagnostics on these trucks.
A little reading and you can monitor or run tests on that app that are almost as good as Ids. There not there yet. But it's coming.

I wonder if it is either a wiring problem or a FICM wiring problem. I am getting 48v on my torque pro rt app when starting the truck or when I cycle the injectors on. But it's only causing an error on the passengers side bank fuel injectors.
When I cycle the key on, engine off, I hear the fuel injectors click like nothing is wrong. Now, that it does not go through a buzz test, makes me wonder if something is grounded or shorted out on the passengers side fuel injectors?
The problem is, I've no idea of how to chase wiring problems, I suck at that!
& BTW, sounds like some of us have very similar views on our current CV-19, it's so obvious our politicians and media are using this as a tactic to push their agenda
Pisses me off! I can't go to work for another 2 weeks due to my exposure to my wife
I'm sure she's gonna be OK, but what a PITA!
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Where Can one find info on the Forscan program?
Thanks!!!
Sure enough, Blue driver and torque pro gave me only a p0275 which confirms the car gauge pro code and no p0263 and P0281.
I would focus on the injector buzz test first. Assuming you have a compatible adapter, I would use ForScan to do the individual injector buzz test as the next step (you should hear a strong "click" from each injector with this test). By focusing on that, you may be able to get more confident in the health of the injectors themselves. Bottom line, you should be able to get them all to buzz!
Cylinder contribution codes can come from many things and sometimes are hard for a cheap scan tool to identify accurately. Even the IDS contribution test sometimes has to have some experience based user for a good interpretation. Personally I would have more faith in ForScan being accurate on the codes and buzz test, but I have no experience with your scan tools. Clearly something is up!
Since now a #5 contribution code is coming up (and 1 and 7 are not), IMO it makes it more likely to be something mechanical, possibly with the passenger bank. Also, just remember that the codes are not electrical codes.
Be aware that multiple contribution codes can be a result of a single injector. Have you done a bubble test?
Do you measure fuel pressure?
I hate to even ask .................. but what brand of ICP sensor did you install?

I"m not sure which brand of ICP sensor was used. I'll have to look through my receipts. I've purchased so many car parts over the past 2 months as I'm also rebuilding the engine in my Audi A6 2.7 twin turbo. She's gonna be pushing 400whp soon, fun daily driver !
Now, Forscan has a app for $2.99 and a few other free ones. I'm not sure which one works, but I did not see an option for the buzz test on that app. I downloaded one of the free forscan's. Does Forescan have an option to buzz the injectors?
Car Gauge Pro worked for a buzz test a few years back. I remember using it. Then, I got an initial buzz and then it buzzed each cylinder individually. Now, I only hear the initial firing of all injectors for about 1/2 the time as when I key on the truck.
Finally, Bubble test? Obviously I've not done a bubble test because I don't know what it is. I think this is when you open up the top fuel filter lid, start the truck and watch the fuel bowl for bubbles? not sure though.
Thanks for all of your help!
Free Forscan is for a Windows based laptop or computer. It has a little more capabilities than the lite.
You can purchase a license for programming capabilities on the full version. If you purchased F S l
You have the capability to do a buzz test.
