Tailgate question

Hey y'all, so a couple days before I bought my truck, it got damaged at the dealership, on the tailgate. It's a 2017 with the back up camera and trailer back up assist. The tail gate was pushed in on one side and caused the tailgate to actually twist, where the support cables on the side, one was taught, the other was slack. They took the tailgate off and said they can fix it. Is this kind of damage even fixable on these tailgates?

If it were me, I’d tell them to put a new one on (at their cost, obviously)

That's what I said. They insisted that they can fix it. So we will see. Otherwise, I have the certified pre-owned bumper to bumper warranty too.
