Paint and body guy I am NOT..Guys that can do that I envy for sure. I just picked up a one owner 1980 bull nose to tinker with. My first thought was repaint for sure but as you may be able to see on part of the front fender and half of the rear fender I put a buffer on it and got it looking decent so now Im not so sure. Its only original once and its a zero rust ding free truck thats staying original and just a driver so should I clear over it or just buff and a good wax? Doesn't look like there is any clear left but looking for options or suggestions. Its wet from rain in the trailer pics its not that shiny dry.

Reason: forgot something
Nice looking truck
Are you over in the 80 - 86 truck area there are a lot of us Flare Side guys in there.
Because you have started with the buffer you may want to finish with it so the whole truck will match.
I have found Turtle Wax Color Back liquid worked really good to bring the color back nice and shinny.
maybe it will look this good

If it were me, I would leave it original. A survivor. Get a nice wool and a pad polisher, Good polish, take it up in a few steps. Lots of YouTube videos on it. Even just a good wax polish will make a world of difference.
That’s a nice looking truck! Nice find. Don’t see that very often.
