2002 F350 Super Duty 5.4
My truck just died going down the road yesterday and won't start again. It had been doing this off and on but always started back up. Any suggestions?
Since it died while running, first suspect would be in the fuel/fuel delivery system.
could also be that the alternator isn’t working and the battery died, but presumably you would have had a light on your dash pop up. Check the battery voltage.
check for codes first though in case it’s something simple
It could be 20 different things. It's not possible to give any help that's not solely a guess with such minimal information, unless you just want guesses to work off of.
I'll start: broken wire in the harness that powers the fuel pump control module due to rodent chewing or large road debris. Vibration causes connection issue at the wire damage point.
Thanks for the tips, but it's not the battery or fuel pump. Truck still turns over but she sounds as if there isn't fire going to the plugs. I had issues of this nature before and changed the CPS. IT seemed to fix it, but about two weeks later it gradually started again. Now all she does is turn over.

Ok, so it wasn't a wire problem, but it was the fuel system. Fuel relay to be exact. Something is still not quite right, but at least I can get to work, and to the service calls. Thanks for the help. Because my scan tool won't give a reading if the truck isn't running. Changed out the fuse panel, which includes the fuel relay built in. It's beyond me why they would do that, but I'm not a car and truck designer.
