I'm a little confused on the thread size for 292 rocker arms. I took out the adjusting screws to clean. Several are really tight. Others feel normal. I'm wondering if i should try to chase the threads? What size tap? Then I read something about "interference threads" in the rocker arms. The 7/16X20 tap will wipe those out and the adjusting screws will be loose. I think the screws that are really tight will hinder adjustment. The threads on the screws are nice.
I wouldn't chase the threads. They need to be tight, and stay put. There is a minimum torque spec for the screws in the book below which they should be replaced. Use a breaker bar or extension for leverage.

Ya the thread is a wave thread to keep them put once adjusted.
